It is a sad, sad day...
It's not totally unexpected, I'd know for some time that my DS Lite was on it's last legs, thankfully I only have another 2 1/2 weeks to wait until the DSi is released (I have one on pre-order). But for now, I have returned to the faithfull DS phat!

Is it just the hinge that broke? Looks fixable to me; if you're just going to chuck it out, give it to me and I'll tinker with it ;)

It is just the hinge - the DS does actually still work (you just need to hold it together). However, the hinge is not easily just glued back in place. It's possible, but probably very hard to do and even then I doubt it would hold for long even if fixed.
I'll bring it down to show you next monday if you want to see, but I doubt it would be worth your time...
