Copying much?

Okay, we all know that the Wii is popular, but does that mean that this is an open invite for Sony any Microsoft to copy the Wii features...?

Lets see... Nintendo Mii's become... Xbox Avatars:

News channel and Weather channel become.... Life with Playstation:

Show a bit of originality guys!

Yeah, and the ironic thing is that beyond finding these things fun for the first couple of weeks with the Wii, I've barely touched them since! MS and Sony are desperate to capture that magic that lets Nintendo sell bucketloads, which I guess means we'll see a bunch of 'new' gimmicks over the next 12 months.

I'll be interested to see how you find the trophy system when it gets released on PS3 (depending on how many games actually support it). I was surprised how much I liked achievements when I finally got to use them - for example they encouraged Marie and I to keep plugging away at some harder songs on Rock Band so we could get to 1 million fans and get the achievement for that...

I'm not convinced that the trophy system will make that much of a difference to me. Generally I tend to play as much as I can (generally until a came is complete) and leave it at that.

There have been several games (Uncharted being on of them, but also Warhawk and COD4) which have achievement of a sort incorporated into the game, generally I don't tend to concern myself too much with these. Although thinking about it, I did a little for COD4, but then again, that actively affected what you could do in the multiplayer game.
